Seconds Out! is the shortest Carol Day story, running just 57 episodes. It is also the only Carol Day story firmly set in the sporting world, though auto racing is an element in [Friedrich Kahlenberg]. In Seconds Out!, as Nora and Paul Egan solidify their relationship and plan for marriage, Carol has a short romance with Gene Miller, a young amateur boxer trying to decide whether to turn pro.

Note the marquee in the first panel of episode #454. Raymond Little was David Wright's brother-in-law, and this episode "announces" him as the writer for the strip.
